The new PS4 update includes some unannounced features

When the PlayStation received it’s earlier this week, Sony focused on some of the largest features included: the ability to appear offline, setting notifications for when friends go on or offline and the expansion of remote play to PC and Mac computers.

However, there are a number of small, unannounced features that one Reddit user named IceBreak has compiled that were included in the new patch as well.

The screenshot notification can be disabled allowing for multiple, consecutive screenshots. The noise is still present to indicate the function activated. Live from PlayStation now offers a search function for its games list from which players can pin up to three games to the top. The USB music player function has returned. Chat party sizes can now be set by the party leader, offering 2-7 member options on top of the default amount of 8. The PS4’s hard drive can now be upgraded to support up to 4TB worth of memory. (some complications are known to occur in this feature)

What is your favorite feature from update 3.5? And more importantly – what feature are you still waiting to see come to your PS4?

Unique Spherical Eagle 360 Goodyear 3D Printed Tire Concept Unveiled (video)

Unique Spherical Eagle 360 Goodyear 3D Printed Tire Concept Unveiled (video)

Tire manufacturer Goodyear has unveiled a new concept 3D printed tire they have created at the Geneva International Motor Show, which is spherical in shape and being designed for the autonomous vehicle era which is edging closer and closer.

Eagle 360 Goodyear 3D Printed Tire Concept

Researchers are indicating that 85 million self driving vehicles are expected to be sold annually by 2035 and Goodyear is already busy at work developing the tyres that will be used by these vehicles and has unveiled the Eagle 360.

The unique spherical tyre is connected to the body of the car using magnetic levitation, which keeps the tyres suspended from the car by magnetic fields similar to those used on magnetic levitation trains. The use of magnets increases passenger comfort and reduces road noise. Watch the promotional video below to learn more about this very unique tyre.

The unique shape of the Goodyear Eagle-360 could contribute to safety and maneuverability to match the demands of autonomous mobility. The spherical shape of the tire is key to delivering ultimate maneuverability. The multi-orientation tires move in all directions, contributing to passenger safety. Active technology allows the tire to move as needed to reduce sliding from potential hazards, such as black ice or sudden obstacles, so it contributes to staying on a safe path.

In addition, the spherical shape of the Goodyear Eagle-360 provides a smooth ride by creating a fluid, lateral movement. This helps the car to overtake an obstacle without changing its driving direction.

Finally, because 360 degree turns are possible with this tire, it could tackle anticipated parking constrictions of the future, as less space will be needed for cars fitted with spherical tires to pull into parking spots. Assuming public parking areas play the same role, this could significantly increase the capacity of public parking areas without increasing their size.

3D Printer Filtration Enclosure System (video)

3D Printer Filtration Enclosure System (video)

If you are concerned your 3D printer maybe creating unwanted toxic fumes in your office, home or school whilst printing filaments, you may be interested in a new 3D printer filtration system and enclosure that has been created by James Nordstrom.

3D Printer Filtration Enclosure System

The 3D printer filtration system has been specifically created for 3D printing in PLA, ABS, HIPS, Nylon as well as using similar more exotic 3D printing filaments that are now being launched on a weekly basis By a wide variety of different manufacturers and are made from a wide variety of different materials to simulate wood and other surfaces.

Watch the video below to learn more about this 3D printing enclosure which has been designed for printers that may be positioned in enclosed spaces, as well as helping keep the printing environment at a constant heat to reduce warping, cracking and other defects.

Its creator James Nordstrom explains more about the 3D printer filtration system which he has launched over Kickstarter with the aim of raising $6,000 with pledges starting from $399 for the 600 mm version.

3D Printers operating in enclosed spaces, like schools, libraries, homes, and offices, produce fumes and concentrations of Ultrafine Particles (UFPs). These emissions can cause runny noses, irritate the throat, lungs, and head, and create long-term health problems. 3DPrintClean enclosures and filtration systems enable 3D printing in PLA, ABS, HIPS, Nylon, and other media, without external ventilation. In addition to the health benefits, enclosed printing environments improve print quality by reducing warping, curling and cracking.

Supports almost all printers. Here are some examples:

Taz 4/5, Ultimaker 2, Ultimaker Extended, LulzBotTaz Mini, Flashforge, Zortrax M200, ROBO 3D, MakerBot Replicator, MakerBot Replicator 2 , MakerGear Printerbot, MakerBot Replicator Mini, Witbox, Form 1, Form 2, Airwolf, UP! Plus 2, HICTOP Prusa Mendel I3, WitBox, Micro 3D, Reprap, Printrbot, Dremel, XYZprinting, Cube 3D Printer, M3D Micro 3D, DA VINCI MINI, Beethefirst, HICTOP, and the Prusa I3 3D.

The inner dimensions of the Lightweight600 are 600mm x 600mm x 600mm (23.6″xx23.6″23.6″), and the inner dimensions of the Lightweight800 are 800mm x 800mm x 800mm (31.4″x31.4″x31.4″).

Rocket League competitive matchmaking is changing

Rocket League competitive matchmaking is changing

Rocket League’s competitive matchmaking will be changing very soon.

With developer Psyonix releasing a blog post updating players, they are just putting the finishing touches on their update to the popular racing brawler(car brawler? racing soccer? car soccer? someone help me out here, please). Psyonix claims to stand by their decision to no longer give constant feedback, however, they are adding a division indicator. This is to increase the transparency on rankings, which they feel was a little too low.

There will be five divisions in each skill tier, equating to roughly 20% of the skill range in that tier. Tiers I, II, III, IV, and V. “You will progress through them sequentially, with Division I being the lowest and Division V the highest.  When you’re in Division V, you know you’re close to promotion, and vice versa with Division I.”

For players that are in the top tier, “instead of seeing a division number, you will see your actual Skill Rating regardless of if you are in the Top 100. Your skill rating will also appear on the League Rankings screen so you can easily gauge how far you have to go to reach the Top 100.”

The second change coming to matchmaking is to fix two issues within the Champion tier. Currently, high skill players are experiencing two major issues. Reaching Platinum within the Champion tier has little to no aspiration, as a increasingly large range of skill levels are found within the Champion tier.

Additionally, players outside the top 100 have no way to gauge how long it will take them to get to the leader boards.

A quick fix to the first issue is to separate Champion into even more tiers. Champion, Super Champion, and Grand Champion. They’ve also shuffled the Star tier around slightly, so if you are in any of the higher divisions you may see a change in your title. You can find the new hierarchy down below.

rocketleague new skill tier

For players that are outside the top 100 but still in the Grand Champion, they’ll be displaying Skill Rating in place of the Divisional Counter. “As for players in the Top Division (now “Grand Champion”) who aren’t in the Top 100, we will be displaying your Skill Rating in place of a divisional indicator. All players in Grand Champion will see their Skill Rating both on the playlist screen and on the League Rankings display so they can easily gauge their progress towards breaking into the Top 100.”

Rocket League is getting a Batmobile

Rocket League is getting a Batmobile

Rocket League has become an unstoppable force as of late, and anyone in denial now has to work against Warner Brothers Interactive partnering up with Psyonix Studios.

The latest marketing stunt to come out of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie is adding a Batmobile to Rocket League. Containing the latest version of Bruce Wayne’s vehicle to hit the big screen, you can purchase the DLC for $1.99 on March 8th.

On top of the new vehicle, you’ll also be receiving three flags for your car. All themed after the main characters for Batman v Superman, the antenna flags are based on Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman.

The DLC is launching less then twenty days before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice comes out, so be sure to show support for the superhero you are cheering for.

Rocket League: Collector’s Edition will be hitting shelves June 24th for Europe and July 5th for North America. The physical edition of the game will be available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

As always, those who purchase the Collector’s Edition of the game will be receiving special goodies. Psyonix Studios and 505 Games have shared that the Collector’s Edition of Rocket League will include four new cars.

They withheld details regarding the design of the cars, or what they will even be like. We do know that they will be brand new cars, not previously released for Rocket League.

Details were not shared as to whether people who have bought the game digitally will be able to purchase the cars separately. Presumably they will be made available to current owners of the game, seeing as Rocket League will be out for almost one year when the Collector’s Edition comes out.

Rocket League Basketball mode will arrive in April

Rocket League Basketball mode will arrive in April

Earlier today, developer Psyonix announced that the keenly-awaited Basketball game mode for the smash-hit title Rocket League will officially launch in April.

Announced in March, the Basketball mode – called Dunk House – looks like it will drastically change gameplay compared to vanilla Rocket League and its Ice Hockey-inspired mode Snow Day.

Dunk House trades the pitch for a court for a new aesthetic, and extends the goals to the shape of an outwards-facing semicircle raised off the ground, representing the hoop. In order to score, players must flick the ball into the air and down into the hoop.

Take a look at the short clip Psyonix posted on its Twitter:

While there’s no exact date yet, watch out for Dunk House landing some time over the next few weeks.

Display Mate Says New 9.7 Inch iPad Pro Has The Best Display

Display Mate Says New 9.7 Inch iPad Pro Has The Best Display

Apple recently launched their new 9.7 inch iPad Pro , the device comes with the same size display as the iPad Air 2, although the display on the device has received a number of upgrades.

9.7 inch iPad Pro

Display Mate have tested out the new display on the 9.7 inch iPad Pro and the company has said that the display on the device is the best LCD display that they have tested.

The key element for a great Tablet has always been a truly innovative and top performing display, and the best leading edge Tablets have always flaunted their beautiful high tech displays.

At first glance the iPad Pro 9.7 looks almost indistinguishable from the 2014 iPad Air 2. Actually, the displays are the same size and have the same pixel resolution. But that’s as far as it goes… The iPad Pro 9.7 display is a Truly Impressive major enhancement on the iPad Air 2… and even on the recent iPad Pro 12.9 and iPad mini 4… and even every other mobile LCD display that we have ever tested… and note that I hand out compliments on displays very carefully.

You can find out more details about the tests run on the iPad Pro and also read the full report over at Display Mate at the link below.

You Will Soon Be Able To Hide Stock Apps On Your iPhone And iPad

You Will Soon Be Able To Hide Stock Apps On Your iPhone And iPad

Apple’s iPhone and iPad comes with a number of stock applications built in, as the moment there is not way to get rid of those apps from your device even if you don’t use them.

iPhone and iPad

Most people who don’t use many of the apps, myself included end up putting these apps in a folder that they don’t use and now it looks like Apple is making some changes that will allow you to hide the apps.

The guys over at AppAdvice have discovered some new code on every app in Apple’s app store and this code will apparently let you completely hide Apple’s stock apps like the Compass, Stocks, Voice Memo’s and more.

Whilst the apps will apparently not be deleted from your device when the feature is introduced, they will be completely hidden, which means that they wont have to be stored in a folder on your device.

It is not clear as yet when this feature will be introduced, although it looks like Apple may announce it at their Worldwide Developer Conference in June, as soon as we get some more details, we will let you guys know.

San Bernardino iPhone Apparently Helped FBI Investigation

San Bernardino iPhone Apparently Helped FBI Investigation

The FBI and Apple were recently involved in a court case over the San Bernardino iPhone, the FBI dropped the case after it managed to unlock the handset with the help of hackers.

San Bernardino iPhone

It has now been revealed that no new information was found on the iPhone belonging to the San Bernardino shooter, but the FBI did have some questions answered by the examination of the handset.

Investigators are now more confident that terrorist Syed Farook didn’t make contact with another plotter during an 18-minute gap that the FBI said was missing from their time line of the attackers’ whereabouts after the mass shooting, the officials said. The phone has helped investigators address lingering concern that the two may have help, perhaps from friends and family, the officials said.

So whilst the iPhone in question did not provide the FBI any new information, they were able to rule out the possibility that the shooters were in contact with another party.

The FBI have yet to reveal exactly how the managed to unlock the iPhone 5C in the case, the unlocking method apparently will not work on the iPhone 5S or above, this means that there is a potential security flaw on older iPhones that Apple has yet to fix.

Rocket League gets update on Xbox One

Rocket League gets update on Xbox One

Most popular titles in the video game world today are not exclusive to one system.

Most popular titles in the video game world today are not exclusive to one system. While that is great for the people and for business, developers sometimes have to go the extra mile to keep up maintenance on each version. Psyonix and their hit Rocket League know just the feeling.

A new update has come out for the ever growing derby car sports game. This one, however, is only for the Xbox One version of Rocket League just to fix a few bugs. Most of the changes simply attend to gameplay improvements in the arenas DFH Stadium, Utopia, Utopia Dusk, and Wasteland. There are a few more general fixes, such as adjusted default UI sizes and improved crash sequences.

You can check out all of the patch notes on the official website. Rocket League is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Improve iPhone Battery Life With These Top Tips (Updated)

Improve iPhone Battery Life With These Top Tips (Updated)

If you want to get the best out of your iPhone and improve iPhone battery life, we have some handy top  tips that will help you maximize your iPhone battery.

Improve iPhone Battery Life

There are a number of things that can drain the battery life, if your follow our tips you will be able to improve your iPhone battery life and get the best out of your device.

Improve iPhone Battery Life

The first thing that your should do is check what apps or services are using up most of your battery life on your iPhone, this can be done by going to Settings > Battery , under the Battery Percentage settings you will see ‘Battery Usage’, this provides a list of the apps and features that have been using your battery and will show you a percentage of what each app is using over the last 24 hours and also over the last week.

1. Turn down the screen brightness on your iPhone

turn down screen brightness

This might seem like an obvious one, but if you are using your iPhone on full brightness then this could use up your battery much quicker than if you ran it on 50 percent brightness. Turning down the brightness to around 50% or even 25% percent could make some significant improvements on your battery life.

This can be done by going to Settings > Display & Brightness and then reducing the brightness to what you think will work for you. If you find a level of brightness that works for you, then you could turn off the auto brightness feature as this adjusts the handsets brightness based on the lighting around you.

2. Turn off background app refresh to help improve iPhone battery life

background app refresh

One feature in the latest versions of Apple’s iOS that is worth looking at turning off is Background app refresh. This can be done by going to Settings > General > Background App Refresh .

There are two options that you can use here, you can turn the Background App Refresh feature off for each individual app you have installed on your iPhone, or you can turn the feature off completely, so none of the app refresh in the background.

The second method of turning off the feature completely so that none of the apps refresh is the one I use and this will help you increase the battery life on your handset to get the most out of your iPhone.

3. Improve iPhone battery life by turning off notifications

iPhone notifications

If you are running a lot of apps on your iPhone and have notifications on for all of them, this can significantly use your battery, constant notifications from multiple apps will have a negative effect on your iPhone’s battery, editing which ones send notifications can help improve battery life on your device.

I tend to turn off notifications for the majority of the applications I use, the ones I keep on are for things like email, text messagse and generally a few other apps that I want notifications from.

You can choose by each app that you have installed on whether you want to receive notifications from that application, this can be done by going to Settings > Notifications and then choosing the app that you want to change the settings on, this is a great way of saving power on your iPhone and increasing your battery life.

4. Change your email settings from Push to Fetch

Push mail settings

If your email is set to Push and you receive a lot of emails every day then this can use up a lot of your iPhone’s battery life, one way around this is to change from Push email to Fetch email, this allows you to choose an interval where your iPhone will check for new emails.

By using the Fetch feature rather than Push, you can choose to let your iPhone retrieve your emails on a regular basis, you can choose to have them fetched every 15 minutes, 30 minutes or hourly. There is also another option, you can choose to Fetch your emails manually, this will happen when you open your email map, then latest emails will then be downloaded to your device when you run the Mail app.

In order to change your email settings from Push to Fetch, you need to go to Settings > Mail, Contact, Calendars > Fetch New Data , you can then choose either Fetch or Push and the time interval you want to use. This is really helpful if you get a lot of emails, even if you set Fetch to get your email every 15 minutes, it should be better than you receiving emails every few minutes.

5. Connect to WiFi wherever possible to improve iPhone battery life

Low Signal

One of the biggest battery drains on the iPhone is not the handset itself but a low or weak signal with your mobile carrier, a poor signal is one of the largest battery drains on the iPhone.

If you have a number of apps setup to use your carrier service, then connecting to WiFi whenever possible should help with this problem and stop your handset searching for a signal constantly.

If you are in a poor signal area, you iPhone will constantly search for a new signal, this can be a large battery drain.

If you are in an area with a really bad signal for a while and cannot connect to WiFi, then you can put the handset into Airplane Mode, this will stop your iPhone from constantly searching for a new signal, of course you will not be able to use many features of the handset in Airplane mode.

6. Improve iPhone battery life by turning off Automatic Downloads

Automatic Downloads

Another way to increase the battery life on your iPhone is to turn off automatic downloads when using cellular. This will also save you data on your monthly mobile data plan, as you can set it so that the downloads only happen when you are on WiFi.

You can choose whether you want to turn off automatic downloads for Music, Apps, Books and also updates for apps, it is possible to select the ones you want or turn them all off by turning off the mobile data feature.

This can be done by going to Settings > iTunes & App Store > Use Mobile Data , you can also select individual items including apps, music, updates and books.

7. Save battery life by reducing Auto Lock time

Autolock

When you have finished using your iPhone the handset will automatically turn the screen off after a set amount of time, choosing a lower setting for Auto Lock can help improve battery performance.

I personally use the lowest setting which is 30 seconds, you can choose between 30 seconds and five minutes or choose never which means that you handset will always be on. With the latest iPhone’s having a fingerprint scanner, it is easy to unlock your device after it auto locks, so choosing a lower setting is not a problem as it is simple to unlock your device.

This can be adjusted in the settings menu on your iPhone by going to Settings > General > Auto Lock and choosing which time setting suits you.

8. Turn off Location Tracking on your iPhone

Location Tracking

You can turn off location tracking unless you use Apple Maps or Google Maps on a regular basis, this can always be turned back on if you want to use one of those apps, this should help improve the battery life on your handset.

Location Tracking can be turned off on your iPhone by Going to Settings > Privacy > Location Services , you can choose to turn them all off or choose which apps you want to use to share your location

9. Cut down on what apps are using Spotlight Search

Spotlight Search

Spotlight Search is designed to search everything on your iPhone, this includes apps, contacts, your photos and more, you can turn off the ones that you don’t need to use the feature with.

This can be done by going to Settings > General > Spotlight Search , you can then turn off apps individually.

10. When your iPhone battery gets low, turn on Low Power Mode to keep it going for longer

Low Power Mode

One of the features in iOS 9 is a new Low Power Mode, this can be turned on when your battery is lower than normal. Low Power Mode on the iPhone is designed to optimize battery life and get the most out of the battery power that you have left.

Turning on Low Power Mode on the iPhone will reduce usage of a number of services, including mail fetch, automatic downloads, background app refresh and also some visual effect, this can be really useful when you have a low battery. You can turn on Low Power Mode on your iPhone by going to Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode .

11. Don’t shut down apps, it uses more power to shut them down

Apple’s Craig Federighirecently confirmed that shutting down apps on your iPhone will not improve battery life.

Once apps are put into background mode they use no battery power at all, regularly shutting down background applications will actually use more power than if you just leave them open in the background.

12. Turn off Bluetooth and AirDrop if you don’t use them

Many people, myself included have Bluetooth and AirDrop turned on even when we are not using these features, if you turn both of these off when not in use then this will give you additional battery life on your iPhone or iPad.

Some of the strangest NBA Live 16 bugs

Some of the strangest NBA Live 16 bugs

NBA Live 16 has just been released, but fans have been playing the free demo for a while now.

NBA Live 16 has just been released, but fans have been playing the free demo for a while now. With that, comes a few funny bugs.

People over on the NeoGAFforums have thrown out a few clips of the bugs, some being one of Kevin Love throwing a free throw in the opposite direction, a player without his midsection, someone who seems to have had his arm completely detatched whilst hanging off the rim, then have if magically grown back the minute he lets go.

A favorite would have to be this one, where the neck of the player completely elongates, reminiscent of a common glitch often seen in The Sims series. And then his arms completely disappear and we’Re not too sure what becomes of him after that point.

Bugs and glitches are regrettably a normal happening, expecially in demos and early access to games. But you would think that EA would know by now how to release a game without ridiculous bugs, right?

Hilarious FIFA 16 glitch

Hilarious FIFA 16 glitch

Sports games really do come with some of the best glitches, or maybe this isn’t a glitch, maybe it’s an ingenious tactic.

The rules governing a penalty dictate goalkeepers can’t rush off the line before the spot kick is taken, whereas the penalty taker is able to stutter their run to increase the chance of scoring. It seems unfair to me, but Joe Hart may have come up with a way of sticking to the rules and level the playing field.

This is psychological warfare at its finest. A technique so ill-advised it’s hard to fathom why it would ever be attempted. A technique which would only be employed by either a madman or a genius.

Watch the video above and decide which for yourself. Personally, I’d say Joe Hart may just be a bit of both.

FIFA 16 is out now for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 was released for the PS4 and Xbox One on September 29th, but the launch has been a rocky one to say the least. It came with issues which Activision has acknowledged, a bewilderingly large day one patch(possibly due to a style change during development) that was bigger than the base game and less than stellar review scores.

However, let’s talk about something a little more positive. Activision has announced the game will be receiving some free DLC!

The content will include two new stages and five bonus characters to add to the eight levels and 10 skaters in the main game. It is not yet known when this new content will become available.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is already out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions expected on November 13th.

FBI Paid Hackers To Unlock San Bernardino iPhone

FBI Paid Hackers To Unlock San Bernardino iPhone

We previously heard that the FBI used security company Cellebrite to unlock the San Bernardino iPhone, it would appear that this information was incorrect and the FBI paid hackers to unlock the iPhone 5C.

san bernardino iphone

According to a report by the Washington Post, the FBI had the help of professional hackers who discovered a security flaw in the iPhone 5C.

This security flaw was then used to create some hardware that was then used to crack the four digit PIN on the iPhone 5C.

It is not clear as yet on whether the flaw will be disclosed to Apple, a decision on this will apparently be made by a White House led group.

The flaw is apparently only applicable to older models of Apple’s iPhone, this includes devices up to the iPhone 5C, Apple will obviously want to fix this flaw to ensure that its customers data is kept safe, this will depend on whether the flaw is disclosed to them.

New Persona 5 character and plot details.

New Persona 5 character and plot details.

Persona 5 developers Atlus have revealed the first major details of the game’s plot as well as a breif background on the 5 main characters of the game.

In an interview by Game Informer, Persona 5 director Katsura Hashino said that the 5 main characters have no real place in society, but are drawn together under a common goal after discovering the Isekai-Navi. An item that allows the party to travel into alternate worlds wherein they can remove the malicious intent from people’s hearts.

Hashino goes on to say that this plot is in contrast to the plot of Persona 5 is in contrast to the previous game in the series.

“In the previous game, we wrote a story that involved having a justice group chase down a bad guy that could easily be feared by just about anyone,” he added.

“This time, it’s about a group of high school students that are being ‘chased’ by unexpected occurrences due to the justice they believe in. We’re writing [the story] to convey a thrilling everyday life in the shoes of these characters, that are as large as life, in this juvenile school setting.”

He also describes the 5 main characters. Calling themselves the ‘Phantom Thieves’ The protagonist is described as a cool, silent type similar to previous persona protagonists, with a slight roguish almost anti-hero edge. The character Ryuuji on the other hand wishes to use the groups powers for noble goals, such as reforming society. The third character, Ann, has lived abroad and therefore stands out but also has difficulty relating to people as a result.

The fourth character is Yusuke, an unusual artist who has suspicious amounts of knowledge about the worlds the party are visiting. Finally there’s Morgana, the ‘instructor’ of the group, who is unaware of her own origins and hopes to discover them on this journey.

Persona 5 will be released on PS3 and PS4 in Summer 2016 after having been delayed from a 2015 release back in September.

New Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir character trailers

New Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir character trailers

Following last week’s trailer for Gwendolyn, Atlus has released two new trailers for their Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir, this time for Mercedes and Cornelius.

Here is a brief description for each character.

Mercedes – The princess of Ringford, the fairy kingdom, and the next in line to be queen. Destined to one day lead the fairies, she’s a bit timid, but won’t hesitate to do something reckless to prove her ability to her mother. After become the next queen, she quickly matures and works hard to become a strong leader.

Cornelius – The prince of Titania. One day, Cornelius awoke in a land he had never seen before, and discovered that he had been transformed into a small, furry animal. Though he is in love with Velvet, a foreign princess, Cornelius fears that she will stop loving him if she sees what he has become. Cornelius has a very serious personality and a strong sense of justice. Because he is still young, he tends to have some naive, idealistic views.

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir will release in Japan on January 14, 2016 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The game will come to North American later that year.

Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem seems to have a lot of SMT in it

Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem seems to have a lot of SMT in it

Two new trailers have been released for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem crossover.

Both trailers are almost entirely in Japanese, so it’s difficult to make out what’s actually going on. But, according to various reports, the first trailer details the story which is about a young girl’s aspiration to be an idol. The second trailer is more obvious in the reveal that Chrom from Fire Emblem Awakening will have a somewhat starring role, though his SMT counterpart doesn’t seem very cheerful.

My take on the trailers is that the game is essentially Persona. Characters transform into warrior/demon(?) counterparts of themselves to fight enemies, much like the Persona series itself. In addition, the Fire Emblem connections seem a little sparse so far, outside of Chrom’s official appearance.

Regardless, both trailers are absolutely beautiful to witness, carrying some of the most colorful and exciting images on the Wii U.

In a NicoNico (Japanese equivalent of Youtube) Live event, Atlus put out a quick trailer that hints at the plot of the game as well as the characters that we’ll encounter throughout our strange journey. You can check the trailer out above. There is a phrase that sets the story quite nicely for Shin Megami Tensei IV Final: “another future after demons arrived”. The game takes place in 203x where the future is bleak with the agents of chaos and order fighing against each other for humanity. This prompted a dome of bedrock to encase the skies of Tokyo by a greater diety.

It was mentioned that Shin Megami Tensei IV Final will not have the law/chaos theme that was presented in the previous game. Instead, the character will play through a neutral route that will end up giving him multiple endings based the decisions and way they play during the game. The main character is a young boy who was training as an outpost hunter to defend his land. After a mission gone wrong, he dies. He then travels the ‘Kingdom of Hades’ where he eventually meets the devil Dagda. Dagda enters a covenant with the boy and makes him a ‘God Killer’ in exchange for his revival. Throughout the adventure, the main character will meet various new characters as well as one guest character from the previous game who is as much deceased as he is alive.

Shin Megami Tensei IV Final is slated for release in Japan on February 2016 on the Nintendo 3DS. No confirmed word for a western release.

Persona 4: Dancing All Night review

Persona 4: Dancing All Night review

As I started up Persona 4: Dancing All Night, I immediately heard the music from the Velvet Room pour out of my Vita’s speakers.

As I started up Persona 4: Dancing All Night, I immediately heard the music from the Velvet Room pour out of my Vita’s speakers. Jumping back into the world of Persona is like running into a friend you haven’t seen for quite some time – the memories come rushing back and it’s almost too much to bearbare.

Dancing All Night is a love-letter to fans of the game’s predecessor, Persona 4. Familiar faces, tunes and banter between characters greet players throughout the game’s 10 hour story mode, retaining that classic Persona feeling (bonus: all spoken dialogue is voiced). Whether it’s Kanji still ripping on Chie’s abysmal cooking or the familiar twinkle of the piano keys as the investigation teams gathers clues to solve a case, it truly feels like a continuation of its parent game.

The story itself takes place six months after the events of Persona 4, and those who played through that title on PS2 or on Vita will immediately feel comfortable with Dancing All Night’s premise. Six months after the events of P4, Rise Kujikawa is set to return to superstardom with a performance at the Love Meets Bond Festival, where Yu Narukami and Naoto Shirogane have joined as her backup dancers. During a late-night practice, Naoto mentions a rumor is circulating that states “at midnight, if you see a video of a deceased idol playing on the LMB site, you are transported to the ‘other side’ and will never wake up again.”

The trio take a look at the website and are indeed transported to the ‘Midnight stage’ to encounter hoards of shadows as they did previously when they ventured to the ‘Midnight channel’ in P4.  A strange voice reveals violence is not possible in this end of the world, leading Yu to learn the only way to break the shadows’ control is through dance to summon a persona. A fellow group of female idols, “Kanimin Kitchen” is also set to perform at the LMB festival, but also end up taken to the ‘Midnight stage,’ leading to the rest of the investigation team traveling from Inaba to find themselves set to solve another case together.

Persona 4: Dancing All Night

The story, while it obviously doesn’t become as fleshed out as the main title’s, still remains interesting and fun as it plays out. Just like its predecessor, it strikes a nice balance of light, humorous moments, while simultaneously presenting those deep life-lessons that Persona executes so well. Its major themes of bonds of friendship and being true to yourself appropriately tug at the heart strings of anyone who feels connected to the characters involved. The number of Persona 4 references will delight veteran players (“Bring on the ‘cubstep,'”says Teddie), but the game also does a fine job of introducing basic details and character backgrounds for those who may pick up the game that have never played a Persona title before.

While the game takes a little while to introduce you to your first dance (dialogue takes up a good part of the story’s first hour), a short tutorial teaches you the basics and you’re all set to begin dancing. Six buttons – three on each side of the screen – correspond to the d-pad and selection buttons on the Vita, acting as your main way of pressing to maintain the rhythm combos that emerge from the center of the screen. As they pass over the arrows or symbols, timing a press to the beat correctly will merit you a “Perfect!” or “Great!” rating that will keep the audience entertained, ultimately preventing you from failing a song, while pushing either joystick when a large ring reaches the outer circle fills up your fever combo meter, leading to a partner joining you to dance on stage.

The soundtrack of Persona 4: Dancing All Night is filled with strong and varied Persona tunes, and throughout the story mode, players have a chance to dance as a ton of characters ranging from Yu to Teddie to Nanako. Each character graces the screen while you play their song, but unfortunately, these dancing animations become way too chaotic and flashy, occasionally making it difficult to see and keep up with the emerging rhythm patterns, resulting in a miss that ruins your 200+ combo. It’s a minor flaw, but as it occurs during the main portion of gameplay, it can make dancing a little frustrating.

I never found the story mode to be challenging, but after the story’s 7.5 chapters (chapter 8 is merely a post-credits cutscene), a nice chunk of time can be spent in Free Dance mode, where you can select a difficulty, track, costume (!) and dance partner of your preference. The more you dance, the more you unlock, and the more items and costumes you’ll be able to purchase with in-game currency through the game’s shopping menu. This section adds a nice amount of replay ability for those looking to grab everything that the game offers.

While Persona 4: Dancing All Night is now the only Persona titlethat will see a release this fall, it’s one that is absolutely worth your time. Whether it’s your first dive into the world of Persona, or if you’ve been waiting all year to dance with Yu and the gang, Persona 4: Dancing All Night is an admirable addition to your Vita library.

Persona 5 new character revealed

Persona 5 new character revealed

Persona 5 has revealed new character, art, and screenshots.

Famitsu, a Japanese magazine, had a large article discussing the new information Atlus has revealed on their game. Located above is the new character for Persona 5. This character’s name is Yusuke Kitagawa.

Yusuke Kitagawa is a student attending Kousei Public High School. He has a scholarship for the high school’s art course. He is the disciple of the painter Madarame, who happens to be Yusuke’s landlord. In his cat burglar costume, he will be wearing a fox max with a tail.

Personas are the manifestation of a person’s personality. A persona can be summoned in order to use special skills or spells. Usually, the main character of these games is the only one who can use more than one persona. In fact, he can use around a hundred personas. The main character can become extremely flexible and useful with the personas he carries.

The screenshots are mostly of the main characters and their personas. The protagonist of the fifth installment currently doesn’t have a first or last name. The player will most likely be able to decide his first name. His initial persona will be Arsene. The main character will be able to obtain a ton of personas unlike his allies. Ryuji Skamoto’s persona is the pirate called Captain Kidd. Morgana, the cat, has Zorro. Ann Takamaki carries the persona Carmen, and Yusuke Kitagawa’s persona is Goemon.

The main characters are a collection of thieves that call themselves “Heart’s Phantom Thieves.” They send out letters to criminals to confess their crimes, and to reform themselves for the greater good. The groups objective is to steal the “rotten hearts” of corrupt people to make their city a better place. Persona 5 has yet to reveal one big villain.

Katsura Hashino, the director of Persona 5 ,  stated that this game will be a bit different than the previous ones. Katsura stated that the style of the previous games were, “justice group chase down a bad guy that could easily be feared by just about anyone.” This time the high school students are being chased because of their “just” actions.

The main characters will be attending a juvenile school. This is also a new take on the Persona series. Katsura said the development team is, “going with a challenge that fuses together a juvenile school setting that is as large as life, together with a picaresqueromance.”

The new pictures show some really cool artwork. The game will no doubt look wonderful. Unfortunately, Persona 5 has been pushed back to 2016. For more information on the delay click here.

FBI’s iPhone Unlocking Tool Will Not Work On iPhone 5S Or Above

FBI’s iPhone Unlocking Tool Will Not Work On iPhone 5S Or Above

The case between the Apple and FBI came to an end when the FBI managed to unlock the iPhone 5C that belonged to the San Bernardino shooter, the FBI worked with a third party to unlock the device.

iPhone Unlocking

Now the FBI has revealed that the tool they purchased from the third party to unlock the device will not work with Apple’s iPhone 5S and above, so basically it will only work with the iPhone 5C or older devices.

“Litigation between the government and Apple over the San Bernardino phone has ended, because the government has purchased, from a private party, a way to get into that phone, 5C, running iOS 9,” said FBI Director James Comey.

The FBI have confirmed that this method only works on older iPhones, so at least we know that Apple’s latest devices, including all the ones that are sold by Apple at the moment are protected from this unlocking method.

It is not clear as yet exactly what the tool was that was used to unlock the iPhone 5C in the San Bernardino case.

Last month Apple released its latest advert for the iPhone 6Sand it starred the Cookie Monster and now Apple has released a behind the scenes video for the advert.

You can also see the original advert in the video below, although I think the behind the scenes one is the funnier of the two.

Apple has used a number of high profile celebrities for its iPhone adverts include, Jamie Fox, Bill Hader and Jon Favreau, although we suspect the Cookie Monster is probaly their most famous star to date.

Destiny 2 is guaranteed to release, likely in 2016

Destiny 2 is guaranteed to release, likely in 2016

Love it or hate it, Destiny is absolutely huge.

Love it or hate it, Destiny is absolutely huge. Even those who claim to dislike the game will often be found discussing it with others and the hype for the game simply hasn’t died down since launch. Rightly so, since Bungie’s project is planned to last for 10 years. So what happens now?

Well, updates will continue to roll out for Destiny, but more importantly a sequel to the game is undoubtedly on the way, potentially sooner than you might think. Not only have Bungie signed a multi-title contract with Activision that will see them agree a 10 year lockdown exclusivity, but hints at Destiny 2 can be found in a plethora of other places.

For instance, in December 2014 DeeJ – the community manager at Bungie – stated that…

“For ‘Destiny 2,’ the idea is that the Guardian that you have created is something you can bring along with you on that adventure. If you take a look at the way people have played other games for a long period of time, they’ve had a relationship with the same character for a very long time.

It’s a lot of fun to walk around the studio because there’s always somebody thinking about visions for the future. The next place you’ll go, the next enemy that you’ll fight, the next thing you’ll earn for doing those things.”

When, not if, Destiny 2 comes around, do you expect it to welcome a better reception than the original did back in September 2014? What would you like to see in the next Destiny game? Smash those keyboards in the comments section below.
