Overwatch is Blizzard’s latest IP that is combining the shooter with features surrounding the growingly popular MOBAs. While the game does not launch until late May, many players have had a chance to show their worth in team battles during the closed beta. Unfortunately, it is time to come to an end.
For months, fans of Blizzard and newcomers alike have been testing out Overwatch in the closed beta. After this long extended research, the company has announced that it will be shutting down this beta on Monday, April 25th. The open beta will begin on Thursday May 5th, or May 3rd if you preorder the game by April 29th. More bad news for those addicted to the closed beta, none of your progress will go over to the open beta or the full game. Looks like you’ll have to start at the beginning like everyone else. Luckily, you’ll have some extra hands on experience.
