While breaking video game records and speed running through classics is excellent for bragging rights, it can also be used to help a lot of people in need. That is exactly what Summer Games Done Quick will be doing for the Doctors Without Borders charity.
From July 3rd to July 10th, gamers from all around will assemble in Minneapolis to take down some speedrun records. Notable choices are Fallout 3 in under 15 minutes, Fallout 4 in under an hour, and any percentage Demon’s Souls under an hour and 15 minutes. If you don’t plan on attending yourself, you can check out the livestream schedulefor Summer Games Done Quick. Perhaps there is a game we didn’t mention that you’ve just been dying to see beaten at an alarming rate.
Summer Games Done Quick raised $1.2 million for Doctors Without Borders last year. Hopefully, that is just one more record they can break.
