During the Consumer Electronics Show 2016 in January, Roku announced that it was working with TV manufacturers to come out with relatively inexpensive 4K TVs that are powered by its smart TV platform.
Well, the first models made in partnership with Insignia were announced earlier this month and now the models created with TCL are available for purchase if you so choose.
TCL’s 55 inch and 65 inch S-series 4K Roku TVs are now available via Amazon. They’re fairly affordable when you compare them to 4K TVs from other high-end manufacturers. The 55 inch and 65 inch models will cost you $599 and $999. That’s not bad at all.
The company also confirmed pricing for four other Roku models in the P130 series but didn’t tell us when they’ll be available for purchase. You can probably buy them over the next few weeks. We hope so. These models feature an enhanced remote with a headphone jack for private listening when the need arises.
These models come in 43 inch, 50 inch, 55 inch and 65 inch sizes for $499, $599, $699 and $1,099. They are hoping that the price and Roku’s operating system built in will entice customers to choose these sets. I guess we will find out when they start adding up their sales.
