Roku has been busy developing a new streamlined Roku streaming stick that the company has now equipped with a quad core processor, enabling it to offer eight times the processing power of the previous Roku stick.
The now smaller Roku streaming media stick will be priced at $50 and supports 5Ghz 802.11n wireless connectivity and comes supplied running the Roku 7.1 operating system, which in its self offer a number of new features and tweaks to enjoy.
The latest streaming hardware to be added to the Roku range also includes a newly designed remote control which is also slightly smaller than the previous version, but unfortunately doesn’t include voice control or a headphone jack. Although the new Roku stick does not support 802.11ac WiFi as yet it should provide a wealth of improvement over the previous device which was far from perfect.
As more details are announced by Roku regards a release date and worldwide availability we will keep you updated as always.
