More PS4.5 rumors are circulating.
More PS4.5 rumors are circulating. Apparently the console will have an 8-core processor running at 2.1 GHz versus the standard model’s 1.6GHz, a stronger GPU and faster RAM.
It will also have 4K image output. The console will use the same PlayStation Network store, same user interface and any purchases made on the base system will carry over. So it will be the same experience, just more powerful. You can even play online with others who have the standard PS4.
There’s nothing official yet, so we should take this all with a grain of salt for now. And even if these reports are true, things can change. Right now it looks like there won’t be NEO exclusive games or features within games, either. NEO is what we are calling it at the moment. By this October, every game released for PS4 will have to support both consoles, with games launching the month prior requiring a patch to run on the new hardware.
Pricing is unknown at this time, but we can see it releasing for $400 while the base model finally gets a price cut to match the Xbox One. That just makes sense. We will likely hear more at E3 in June, so stay tuned. A more powerful console would be nice that’s for sure.
