Last year it was confirmed that a new Star Trek TV series would be launched in 2017. Now many fans are waiting anxiously for this new series.
One lingering question from fans is, which era will it be set in? Well, we may have the answer.
A recent report from Birth.Movies.Death has revealed that this series will take place before The Next Generation. That would certainly be an interesting time period for the new series to take place during. Of course it would mean no Romulans. It is a time period that is wide open for adventure. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but it sounds very reasonable.
The site quoted one of their sources, “A trusted source has chimed in and told me that it looks like the show will be a seasonal anthology, which means the first season will be set post-Undiscovered Country. After that the entire Star Trek universe is potentially open. So those of you hoping for a post-Dominion War show… don’t give up hope. That could come some day.”
This new Star Trek TV series is expected to air in 2017 on CBS All-Access, an online video streaming service that will cost $5.99 a month.
