Microsoft has this week rolled out a new update to its Microsoft Outlook email and calendar application for Apple iOS devices, bringing with it new features and functionality that include Skype integration.
The new integration with Skype now allows users to easily make a meeting within their calendar a Skype call, by the simple flick of a switch within the app. The call or video conference can then be accessed when you need from within calendar with just another single tap.
Microsoft explains a little more about the new Skype integration which has been rolled out to their latest Outlook iOS app update which is now available to download directly from the iTunes App Store for free.
Meet Outlook for iOS, the app that helps millions of users connect all their email accounts, calendars and files in one convenient spot. Newly redesigned, Outlook for iOS lets you do more from one powerful inbox.
Innovation is happening in the calendar this week with our latest Skype integration. Make any meeting a Skype call simply by flicking a switch, then access the call when you need to with just a tap. Now when you say “I’m joining the call now”, you’ll actually mean it.
To give it a try, simply turn on the “Skype Meeting” switch when creating or editing an event. We’ve also added a 3-day view in the calendar to make your schedule for the days ahead clearer than ever. To access it, tap on the view icon in the top-right corner of your calendar. Questions or comments? Send us a note through the in-app Support page. We’re listening.
