Unveiled earlier this year the Intel Compute Stick offers users a small pocket sized PC that is capable of transforming any monitored for large screen TV into a computer system, thanks to the Intel created hardware inside.
Expanding the range further, Canonical has this week announced that a new UbuntuIntel Compute Stick will be launching next week priced at roughly $110, and will be available both from online stores and also high street retail outlets.
The Ubuntu Intel Compute Stick will be supplied running a 64-bit version of the Ubuntu 14.04 LTS operating system and will be powered by the same Intel Atom 1.3Ghz quad-core processor supported by 1GB RAM. Together with 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded further by use of the included microSD card slot.
The Microsoft Windows version of the Intel Compute Stick offers the same hardware configuration that carries a slightly more expensive price point and is available to purchase for $150.
