There are all sorts of rumors flying around all over the internet about the purported Samsung Galaxy S5, ranging from its specifications, how it could look like, launch dates, and more.
Now, another rumor has popped up saying that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 might feature gesture controls. Samsung phones usually come with gestures such as Smart Stay, etc. but it seems the Korean OEM is planning on improving them and offer advanced gesture controls, according to a patent filed by Samsung.
The patent was spotted by the folks at Galaxy Club and would include performing functions by head and wink movement. For example, when browsing a webpage, moving your head to the left will go back to the previous page while moving it to the opposite direction will move on to the next. The patent was published two days ago, with the filing date going back to July. This suggests that we might witness advance gesture controls in the upcoming Galaxy S5.
Based on rumors, the alleged handset is expected to come with a 5-inch display with 2K resolution, 4GB of RAM, 64-bit Exynos 6 or Snapdragon 805 processor, 16MP ISOCELL camera and runs Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed out of the box. The handset is rumored to launch in April alongside the updated Galaxy Gear.
We’ll update you as soon as we have more information about the purported handset.
