Countless thousands of early VR adopters are waiting for their pre-ordered Rifts and have been taking to poke at Oculus founder Palmer Luckey about it. Taking to twitter, Palmer had tried to ease concerns with his tweet stating that the devices would be shipped out and arriving last week.
Shipping update: Kickstarter Rifts will start arriving Mon, pre-orders start shipping mid-week (likely Wed) and will arrive this week too.

Obviously, when they did not arrive, fans start poking Palmer once more, to which he responded with:

Taking to the subreddit, Luckey also expressed his thoughts on the matter in a bit more detail. The thread suggested that Luckey couldn’t respond due to being suppressed by his bosses. Luckey made this statement in retort:
Don’t shunt blame to other people, this is my call. I am not going to wax poetic about this, since I have done so in the past, but bottom-line: I won’t give in-depth updates on any situation without knowing it is solid, true, and finalized. Until I can do so, the best I can do is remind people that I will get them information as quickly as I can.
On the rare occasions when things still change, even when they change for reasons out of my control, I get crucified anyway. Sometimes that means updates have to wait until things get locked down, and sometimes that means waiting a little longer to give everyone good info.
That said, Luckey and the rest of the Oculus team are obviously very stressed about the situation as CEO of Oculus Brendan Iribe mentions that due to the original release window being skewered, all shipping costs for the pre-ordered Rifts will be free for everyone.
