Some of those games I've never even heard of...which is kind of cool because now it gives gamers ample opportunity to check out some of the titles on the PS3 that they may have missed out on.
There's also a diverse smorgasbord of games that range from miscellaneous puzzle titles to hardcore shooters; Sony obviously isn't discriminating when it comes to the diversity of the game selection they have available for the PS3. JRPG classics like White Knight Chronicles are up there alongside blockbuster shooters like KillZone 2 . There are also games like the original Gravity Rush and the 2D fighting game, Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late , which is probably one of the most niche titles on that list.
Sony's own first-party exclusives like Uncharted 3 , are available, although it seems to stand as a stark contrast to the fact that you can already get Uncharted 3 on the PS4 with the Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection .
This brings us to a very important facet of the PlayStation Now service: you're paying to rent a lot of games you might already own on previous PlayStation devices.
Essentially, the service opens up PS4 owners to playing classic games from the bygone eras on their new device, but it comes at a hefty cost of $99.99 for an annual subscription or $19.99 for a single month or $44.99 for three months. It should go without saying that PlayStation Now is very expensive on top of what you have to pay for PlayStation Plus, and the value of playing older PlayStation titles on the PS4 for prices that are much higher than what many of those games are worth has left a rather sour taste in the mouths of many gamers.
Nevertheless, if you're still keen on playing older titles from the illustrious libraries of Sony's home consoles, you can do so right now with the 40 PS3 games added to the PlayStation Now library.
